Regional Tastes

Get to Know Some of Our Suppliers

As a co-operative, our dedication lies in supporting local food producers and boosting the rural economy. Since 2007, we have championed regional food and beverage producers through our Regional Taste Range.
Our collaboration involves working closely with producers, connecting them with markets and customer bases that may have been out of reach without the support of an established retailer. By staying connected to our producers, we witness and address the challenges they encounter, providing our expertise to help them overcome these obstacles.

Our producers vary greatly in scale and reach – from those featured in 21 stores to those exclusive to just one, and from businesses employing 30 individuals to sole proprietors. This diversity showcases the flexibility of local sourcing, allowing us to tailor our approach to meet both the producers’ needs and our customers’ preferences.

Establishing strong partnerships is essential to our operations. By maintaining close relationships with our local suppliers, we engage in transparent and candid dialogues with them. This ensures a secure supply chain and enables us to offer products that resonate with our customers.

Through these collaborations, we foster intimate connections with our suppliers and provide customers with a delightful selection of local food and beverages crafted by passionate individuals.

Glastonbury Spring Water

About Us

Glastonbury Spring Water was founded in 1990 by Ian and Caroline Tucker.  At that time the water was bottled from a different source, the White Spring. This was discovered ‘by accident’ after we purchased the Well House in Well House Lane at auction as a piece of Glastonbury for future generations to enjoy. At the same time Michael Eavis didn’t have a sufficient water supply for the Glastonbury Festival, it was suggested we bottle for them & Glastonbury Spring Water was born. Following this, David Tucker (Ian & Caroline’s son & now Managing Director) joined & helped run the company on a day to day basis producing small packs of water for both local cafes, shops & the Glastonbury Festival.

Due to successful years of rapid expansion we moved location & tankered the water to our bottling location in Glastonbury. We soon realised tankering was inefficient & costly, but more importantly did not fit well with the company’s environmental aspirations, it was apparent we needed to move clo

Brothers Cider

About Us

The company have been making cider since 1658, with Gabriel Showering taking his cider around the public houses of Shepton Mallet, Wells and Glastonbury. In 1842 the company opened our first pub, The Kings Arms in Shepton Mallet. It was hard work but luckily the family were not shirkers, so we opened more pubs, like the unusually named Black Swan, also in Shepton Mallet. We first started selling our Pear Cider at the Glastonbury Festival in 1995 near what was then called the Jazz World Stage. These days it is called The West Holts Stage but the bar is still in the same place. Over the years, festival goers kept asking us if it was possible to get our drink when the festival was over and so we decided to market it to pubs and supermarkets. Now you can get it all over the country and at other festivals besides Glastonbury.

CELEBRATING LOCALITY – ONE APPLE AT A TIME!

Get ready for a cider journey that’s as quirky as our wonkiest apples! Here at Brothers, the magic happens less than 6 miles away from our mill, our Somerset orchards are home to the juiciest, crunchiest apples in all shapes and sizes! We embrace the wonky ones with open arms as beauty pageants are overrated.

We recognise the pressing need for businesses to reduce their carbon footprint which is why we’ve rooted ourselves in our local community. We make our ciders using simple, honest processes, there are no shortcuts & no jiggery-pokery.

Our commitment to sustainability doesn’t end with the final sip…we’ve found innovative ways to repurpose every part of our harvest. The leftover fruit pomace, which was once classed as waste, now funds a new life as a source of energy! In fact, it was used to heat the Shepton Mallet swimming pool.

Furthermore, our entire range is vegan accredited and gluten free, reflecting our dedication to catering to diverse dietary preferences and needs.

So, here’s to embracing wonkiness, savouring the taste of Somerset, and turning every drop into a celebration! Cheers to the quirkiest sip of Somerset you’ve ever tasted!
